| Weekly Funding Opportunity: US Airways Corporate Giving |

Each week, Neighborhood Networks provides potential funding sources to help centers develop and improve programs and services. Featured this week is US Airways Corporate Giving.
US Airways is the fifth largest domestic airline, employing more than 36,000 aviation professionals worldwide. US Airways, US Airways Shuttle, and US Airways Express operate approximately 3,700 flights per day and serve more than 230 communities in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin America.
Program Areas: US Airways fulfills its commitment to corporate citizenship by supporting a broad range of nonprofit organizations, including arts and culture, health and human services, education, environmental, and civic, and employees' involvement in their local communities through volunteerism and service on nonprofit boards.
Targeted Areas: Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Southeast, Southwest, and West.
Eligibility: The US Airways Corporate Giving Program invests in IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that enhance the quality of life in the airline's hub and focus cities of Boston, Charlotte, Las Vegas, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Washington, DC.
The US Airways Corporate Giving Program does not support:
- Organizations located or serving populations outside of 100 miles of the airline’s hub and focus cities.
- Individuals, including support for hardship or medical travel, scholarships, camperships, specific students, researchers, or conference fees.
- Individual schools and their support organizations (including Booster Clubs, PTA/PTOs, athletic teams, bands, performing arts groups, alumni associations, or reunions).
- Third-party or pass-through fundraisers, such as organizations fundraising on behalf of another nonprofit or auxiliary organizations.
- Political, labor or fraternal organizations, associations, or service clubs (i.e., Lions, Rotary, Kiwanis).
- Sports teams or sporting programs.
- Scouting troops.
- Competitions, beauty pageants, or talent contests.
- Religious organizations, churches, or programs that are purely denominational in purpose.
- Organizations or programs funded 50 percent or more by government sources.
- Organizations whose primary mission is funding medical or scientific research.
- Organizations that primarily provide advocacy for issue-related topics.
- A program or event within the next 90 days.
- Start-up organizations defined as a nonprofit organizations whose 501(c)(3) has been instated less than three years.
- Foundations or organizations that are grantmaking entities.
- Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, marital status, age, disability, or veteran status.
- Endowment.
- Capital and building campaigns.
- Debt reduction campaign.
Award Amount: Award amounts vary.
Application Process: All requests must be submitted through the online application process. The contributions committee meets bimonthly to review requests. No status calls are accepted. Faxed, e-mailed, or incomplete requests will not be considered.
