Each week, Neighborhood Networks provides potential funding sources to help centers develop and improve programs and services. Featured this week is Costco Wholesale.
Costco Wholesale is a membership warehouse club. With hundreds of locations worldwide, Costco provides a wide selection of merchandise, plus the convenience of specialty departments and exclusive member services.
Program Areas: Costco Wholesale is committed to supporting charitable and community activities in the markets where the company does business. The primary areas of focus for Costco’s giving include children, education, health, and human services.
Targeted Area: National.
Eligibility: Costco only considers charitable donations to eligible Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations for selected programs, which fall within the company’s focused areas of giving.
Award Amount: Award amounts vary.
Application Process: Organizations that meet Costco’s giving guidelines and focus areas should mail a completed copy of Costco’s Grant Application to:

For in-kind (product) donations or a Costco cash card, organizations should provide the local Costco warehouse manager with a copy of their IRS tax substantiation letter and a written request on organization letterhead. It is best to make requests a minimum of four weeks in advance of the need.
